About Dr. Barek Sharif, Psy.D, LMFT

I’m Dr. Barek Sharif, and it’s a pleasure to meet you. Couples rarely drift apart overnight - disconnection happens slowly, often beneath the surface of daily life. I work with couples to uncover these patterns, rebuild trust, and re-establish a healthier, more compassionate way of relating. Together, we look at how communication, unspoken expectations, and emotional wounds shape your relationship, and we practice more understanding, balanced, and authentic ways of connecting.

Whether you’re struggling with conflict, distance, betrayal, or the quiet sense that something is missing, I offer a grounded space to explore what’s happening and begin healing together. Our work focuses on helping you and your partner rediscover empathy, strengthen your bond, and create a relationship that feels secure, supportive, and alive.

This journey doesn’t have to be faced alone - I’d be honored to walk alongside the both of you. Sessions are available in person or via telehealth, and you’re welcome to reach out for a brief consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

Dr. Barek’s Focus

  • The primary reason couples engage in therapy is due to poor communication. It’s normal to have these challenges and I work with couples to improve how they navigate misunderstanding and miscommunication.

  • As an AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy) Approved Supervisor, I provide one-on-one, triadic, or group supervision from a Developmental Narrative Model.
